What is sighting?

Sighting is a collection of sequential detections in one uninterrupted appearance in front of the camera with AI processing. It represents a series of repeated face detections of the same subject/identity by one camera.

The number of detections inside of a sighting directly depends on the appointed framerate or the stream quality. In order for the new identity to be created from a sighting, there has to be a sufficient amount of face detections with good quality scores. If that quality score threshold is not met by the sighting the sighting w/o will be created and the new identity will not be created.

Each sighting carries a timestamp and camera name as metadata.
